This is the surprise post I promised on my sunset article. My Sister, her husband and I went driving around the city last night to see the Christmas light displays. First we visited the best home display in the city, (Cambridge and Luster) where they have decorations set up in three consecutive yards. They have a sign out front that tells you to find a certain radio station, once you have that set, sit back and enjoy the scenes! All the lights are synchronized to the music on the radio, and they have a beautiful display!
After that we drove through the town just to see what we could find and were kind of disappointed to discover that not as many homes are decorated this year. We decided that was probably due to the economy. However, we did have a destination in mind, the Cornerstone Church (Map) this year has revived it's drive-thru display. It was well worth the 5$ donation they were asking for, they had some really beautiful displays all along the drive to the church. It's about a 10 min. trip through the display and all I can say is if you're in the area, you really need to visit!
I've noticed a bunch of folks visiting this page this year, (2012)so I'm going to include a link to a map of Christmas light displays in and around Springfield.
